Happy 4th of July

Although I have returned from my trip in Europe and am back in Florida, I am at my family's house a few hours north of Miami taking care of a lot of loose ends that I have needed to attend to for some time. I will be back at work at the studio in Miami after the 4th of July.
My month long adventure abroad has sadly come to an end. After checking out the Loop Video Art Fair in Barcelona, I went to France to visit clients and friends. After a week in the land of wine and cheese, I ventured on to Switzerland to visit friends and see the European ArtBasel. Being completely visually overloaded, I went off to Germany to visit friends and recuperate from the excess art exposure that Basel delivered. With only a couple of days of rest, I was struck by inspiration and found myself off to Paris for a few days to do some research for a possible future project. My travels are coming to an end, and I will be soon back in Miami. My trip has been restful and insightful and has allowed to reconnect with many old friends who I have not seen in many years. Although I have a great deal of work awaiting me at my studio in the Magic City, I am ready and looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
As for other news, the group show at Galerie Burkhard Eikelmann in Düsseldorf, Germany entitled "News on Paper" ended June 15th and featured many well-known artists, including John Baldessari, Georg Baselitz, Louise Bourgeois, Christo, Jasper Jones, Alex Katz, Neo Rauch, Gerhard Richter, and Andy Warhol. My work was well received and the gallery sold a number of my pieces. My last exhibition of "Around the World in a NYC Taxi" got a lot of attention in April at ArtCologne, one of the oldest and largest art fairs. The project was mentioned and appeared in the online art journal, ArtNet.com's review of the fair. If you were unable to see the taxi project in person, you can go to YouTube, where I have posted short video clips of all three video sculptures from the exhibitions I have had in Berlin, Miami, and New York City.
My interview with a3tv during ArtBasel Miami Beach about the Time Machine is still online. You can view it here. The billboard sponsored by Premier Outdoor Media Inc. of the $100 U.S. Flag is still up in Miami's Design District. As well, my Camouflage series was published in the Fall 2006 literary journal of the Henry Miller library, Ping-Pong. All four works from the series that were shown at the Brogan Museum of Science and Art in Tallahassee, FL are featured in this inaugural edition of the publication.
