Work on exhibit at Liste Art Fair in Berlin

This week Galerie Burkhard Eikelmann will be exhibiting my work at the Berliner Liste Art Fair in the once divided city from October 29th to November 2nd. As for new work, the $100 bill editions have arrived! There are two editions and one mono print. The Golden Rule which is limited to 6 pieces is a large image of a $100 bill that was printed on gold leaf linen canvas and measures 25.75 x 60.125 inches. The other is a $100 bill image on stainless steel that is 27 x 61 inches and is limited to 3 prints. The mono print has the same dimensions as the stainless steel works except that the $100 bill image is printed on an anodized aluminum background. I have been delayed in getting the works ready to photograph and show as my framer's father is in critical condition in the hospital and he has not been able to prepare the works as quickly as he would normally.
ArtBasel Miami Beach is in the forefront of my thoughts, and I am working diligently to create new works to have ready in time for the fair. My goal is to have 2 or 3 new original paintings completed before the fair begins. I am currently work on the first of these paintings and hope to have it completed by the end of this week. As my accident in Houston has shown me that my time here is limited, so I want to create as much quality work as I can. So I am concentrating to get to the point where I can afford to hire some help to assist with the tedious aspects of my work.
My cross country trip in the Border Cruiser to present the project at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions was productive and gave broader exposure of the project to many more people. During the Democratic National Convention, the project was displayed in front of Buffalo Exchange, the Museo de Arte Latin Americas, and driven around the streets of Denver. In fact, Senator John Kerry had to do a double take when he saw the car.
While in Denver, the car was written up in The Rocky Mountain News, Univision Online, Yahoo News, the Westword blog, and the Denver Post calender. It was also written up in The Twin Cities Daily Planet, The Minneasota Independent, the Twin Cities IndyMedia, and the Americans for Legal Immigration Forum.
The project was also the focus of a radio interview with journalist, Lakshmi Singh of "Latino USA" and broadcasted nationally on NPR.
Now that the excitement of the conventions are over and I am back home safely, I am going to hunker down in the studio and get to work. If you need to reach me, please send me an e-mail or call.
