Interviewing assistants and finishing new work

This past week I have been busy with running errands and starting some new projects. One of the highlights of the week was when I attended a job fair to interview students at the Arts Institute to find a studio assistant. I am embarking on a number of new works that are process orientated and involve a great deal of time consuming, repetitive tasks. So in order to produce enough work for a future exhibition next year, it is a necessity that I get some help to assist me. I met a number of great prospects and look forward to follow them up soon. I also putting the finishing touches on two works that are almost complete. As for the commission, the project is on hold until I can find the right source material for the images for the painting. I am hoping that I will have these soon so I can begin.
As for other news, the review in Wynwood art magazine of my show at Dr. Mosquera's Art@Work alternative space is out. Janet Batet, an independent art critic and curator gave a nice write up about the show.
Also the group exhibition at the Harris House of Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna, Florida has just ended. The show entitled Activate was a great success and attracted a number of area collectors and art enthusiasts who enjoyed it immensely. I will be getting my work back soon from the show.
