Artwork in FL and NYC Election Themed Shows
I will have artwork in two election themed group exhibitions at Vertu Fine Art in Boca Raton, FL and at the Front Room Gallery in Williamsburg, NY. In honor of the final 2012 Presidential Debate that will be held at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Vertu Fine Art is featuring a special patriotic themed exhibition that will include such signature works by Andy Warhol as the Bald Eagle and Uncle Sam; the Oval Office by Roy Lichtenstein; and various artworks by myself among others, opening this Friday and continuing through the mid of November. In Brooklyn, my serigraph prints, HOPE & PROGRESS will be featured in the Ballot Show at the Front Room Gallery in Williamsburg from October 26th to November 7th. This exciting group exhibition will bring together politically charged works by various artists from around the country. Back in Miami, things are picking up in the studio. The toy soldier commissioned artwork that I have been focusing on for some weeks is nearly done, and I am just waiting for it to be framed. In the meantime, I am creating two backgrounds for new pieces that I plan will be done by the end of the week. So the momentum is starting to pick up, and things are coming to a nice resolve.
As well as being busy with these pieces, I picked up three small studies from the framer last week. They came out great! The studies allow me to work out and test ideas before committing a large amount of time and materials that is needed for a larger work. Soon I will have a new body of work ready to show during ArtBasel Miami Beach which is December 5th thru 9th. So with 7 weeks to go, I still have a lot to get done.
