New work at Exit Art 2011 Benefit Gala

One of the new pieces that I have been working on is up for auction at the Exit Art annual gala. I am honored that my work is included in work available to benefit this respected New York alternative exhibition space. The auction takes place on Wednesday, May 18th. If you are in New York, be sure to purchase tickets in advance to attend.
As for other news, Verve Gallery presented a number of my paintings and prints including HOPE, PROGRESS, the Money Laundering print, and the $100 U.S. Flag at the Art Chicago fair from April 28th to May 2nd. The annual international fair of contemporary and modern art, brought together the world’s leading emerging and established galleries.
The Chicago fair exposed my work to many new collectors as the Dallas Art Fair had at the beginning of April. In Texas, there was strong interest in my work, and the gallery was able to sell a number of pieces including Black Gold and a set of the HOPE and PROGRESS prints. One of the highlights of the show in Dallas was when noted art collector, Frank Herzog lead a group through the fair and discussed my work.
I am in the process of developing some new pieces but have been hitting some production obstacles. I am working with a new company to print images for work, but they are dragging along due to the fact they are working on bigger jobs than my own. So things that should go rather quickly are now a month behind schedule. Although I am frustrated about the situation, there is little I can do, other than plan out work that does not involve factors I cannot personally control. In the meantime, I am sketching out ideas for new pieces and trying to get them off the ground. Hopefully, this will go more smoothly.
