New work and NYC Armory Art Fair Week

This week I finished a new piece which I have been working on since the end of January and went to New York City to see the various art fairs taking place during the Armory Show week.
The artwork is something that I started back in late January and has taken more time than I had anticipated. So this week I have put my full energy to make progress on the piece and bring it to completion.
On Wednesday, I arrived in New York to check out the Armory Art Fair. In the past few days, I have also visited the following art fairs: Pulse, Scope, Fountain, Independent, and Verge. I find it important to go to the fairs as you are able to see works from galleries and artists from around the world and in a few days get a sampling and perspective what is happening artistically from around the globe. In addition to the fairs, I also visited the Whitney Biennial, the New Museum and walked around to several galleries in Chelsea to get a bit of a feel for what is going on in New York. After this trip, I am really looking forward to getting back to Miami to work in the studio to get to work on a number of ideas that I have. As well it will be nice to be back in warmer weather. Five days of winter is enough.
